Jim Goree was part of the formative years of Southeast whitewater, paddling with the Clemson-area Sierra Club chapter and helping build the community that would shape generations of boaters. An innovator at heart, Jim experimented with paddle and boat design both independently and alongside Perception Kayaks and Whetstone Paddles. He never stopped giving back—continuing to paddle, support the whitewater community, and champion conservation well into his 80s. A pioneer. An innovator. A leader. A lifelong whitewater advocate.
