Nominees must have profoundly influenced the sport of whitewater paddling in one or more of these ways:

INNOVATOR – Created new methods, technologies, or products that advanced paddling.

LEADER – Guided people, organizations, or movements that shaped the sport.

PIONEER – Opened new pathways or set bold firsts in paddling.

ACHIEVER & ROLE MODEL – Reached notable accomplishments and inspired others to follow.
Regional Impact

Nominees need not have lived in the Southern Appalachians, but their influence should be significant in the region — the mountainous areas of Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama
Eligibility

Must be 30 years or older (for individual nominees)

Must have contributed to the sport for at least 10 continuous years

Can be living or deceased
-
May be an individual or an organization (clubs, businesses, nonprofits, etc.)
